Grim-Hawk

Mayhem, the young adult, little green and pink dragon, had been traveling by night on his way to the West Plains. He was looking for a new residence and was checking out few towns that caught his interest. He wasn’t sure what he was looking for in particularly for a new home… Just wanted someplace he could have a new start. The West Plains was one of the firsts on his lists he was actually checking out, he had tried to fly in time for Professor Brightburn’s lecture at the nearby Brightburn University but of course he had found a way to miss that. He just hoped he could still have a look through the university to see if it was something he’d be interested in. Learning something new was always a plus, but he worried he wouldn’t really… Fit in with that sort of crowd. It had been advertised that any creature could join, but he was worried he wasn’t “nerdy enough” to join in. Or at least, that’s what he told himself, but he’d see when he landed right? The university was finally within’ sight, but as he flew closer he couldn’t help but notice the crowds of creatures outside, many seeming upset. He almost didn’t want to land at first, hovering nearby to hear what was going on by catching various conversations. Apparently there were students that had gone missing at the school? And these creatures were talking about doing searches for them, or at least rather or not they should search for them? Some had already taken off to go do so, while other’s stood around or even just walked back home. Not their issue right? After hearing of the situation, even if he wasn’t a member of the community, the idea of just walking away wasn’t something he could even consider. They had to be around there right? It was possible they had just ran away but… What was the harm in joining the search? Sure, he could be as pessimistic as the next dragon, but what were his two sets of wings truly useful for if not for something like this? He finally landed, asking the Pony’s that were leading these groups how he could help. It didn’t take long before he was back in the air, searching from the sky. It was a bit hard to see in the dark, at least at night, but he was trying. He hadn’t heard what happened, but suddenly he was a bright shining light from the ground, proceeded by a unicorn fleeing the scene. Mayhem wasn’t sure what was going on, but a fleeing pony meant follow right? He flew down, closer to the action, than followed after the fleeing unicorn. “ Hey, s-stop!” He called out. The truth was, despite the aura he gave off, he was actually quite self conscious, always afraid he wasn’t good enough. Wasn’t smart enough, strong enough, fast enough, he was always afraid of not being enough. Doing this, being able to help the party, this was a way for him to prove to himself that maybe… Maybe he was good enough? But could he do it? Could he be of help? Only time would tell.
